MT-2
Updated April 28, 2026
Primary Benefits:
- Increases melanin for a deeper, longer-lasting tan
- Protects skin from UV damage and oxidative stress
- May reduce risk of sunburn and photodamage
- Supports skin health and even pigmentation
- Often reported to increase libido and sexual desire
Mechanism of Action:
MT-2 (Melanotan II Acetate) is a synthetic analog of the alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), which binds to melanocortin receptors and stimulates melanogenesis (melanin production) in skin cells. It enhances pigmentation while also demonstrating neuropeptide effects such as appetite suppression and increased libido.

- Reconstitution:
10 mg vial → 3.0 ml bacteriostatic water - Daily Dose:
166 mcg (5 units) - Cycle:
1 to 3 times per week for up to 2 weeks
Then reduce to once weekly for maintenance - Timing:
Take on an empty stomach or with a light meal.
Best taken in the evening, preferably the night before planned sun exposure or tanning sessions.
Potential Side Effects:
- Facial flushing, nausea, or dizziness (especially at higher doses)
- Temporary darkening of freckles or moles
- Increased libido and spontaneous erections (in men)

Notes:
Begin with a low dose (e.g., 100 mcg) to assess tolerance. MT-2 can significantly enhance pigmentation even with minimal UV exposure—users should monitor tanning sessions closely. Store reconstituted peptide in the fridge and use within 45 days unless the product label or protocol says otherwise.
