GHRP-2
Updated April 28, 2026
Primary Benefits:
- Stimulates natural release of growth hormone (GH)
- Promotes lean muscle development and fat loss
- Enhances cellular repair and recovery
- Supports better sleep and circadian rhythm
- May improve skin quality and reduce inflammation
Mechanism of Action:
GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2) is a synthetic hexapeptide that binds to the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a), stimulating the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. It acts synergistically with GHRH analogs like CJC-1295 to maximize GH pulsatility and improve anabolic and regenerative pathways. It can aid in anabolic repair, fat metabolism, and recovery. Unlike GHRP-6, it has less tendency to increase appetite, making it more suitable for fat-loss protocols.
Dosing & Protocol:
Subcutaneous (SQ) Injection:
- Reconstitution:
– 5 mg vial → 3.0 ml bacteriostatic water
– 10 mg vial → 3.0 ml bacteriostatic water - Daily Dose:
– 5 mg vial → 166 mcg (10 units)
– 10 mg vial → 333 mcg (10 units) - Cycle:
1–2 times daily
5 days on / 2 days off
6–12 weeks on, 2–4 weeks off - Timing:
Based on personal preference but more ideal on an empty stomach.
Potential Side Effects:
- Mild water retention
- Increased appetite (less than GHRP-6)
- Temporary tingling or flushing
- Mild increase in cortisol or prolactin in sensitive users
Common Stacks:
- With CJC-1295 (no DAC): For enhanced GH release
- With Ipamorelin: For balanced GH release without elevated appetite or cortisol
- With BPC-157 or TB-500: For synergistic healing and tissue repair
Notes:
GHRP-2 is more potent than GHRP-6 in GH stimulation but generally causes less appetite stimulation. Best results are seen when paired with a GHRH analog like CJC-1295 (no DAC) and used on an empty stomach.
